Who knew today was National Pumpkin Day? We sure didn’t. But since Halloween is right around the corner, we thought it would be fun share some pumpkin facts from the U.S. Department of Agriculture:
All 50 states produce pumpkins
About half of the produced pumpkins in the U.S. is grown in six states
U.S. farmers in the top six pumpkin-producing states produced 753.8 million pounds of pumpkins in 2015
Pumpkin production dropped more than 40 percent from 2014 to 2015 largely due to a drop in acreage planted and harvested in Illinois
Illinois remained the leading producer of pumpkins by acreage in 2015, with almost 80 percent of acres typically devoted to production for pie filling and processing uses
Pumpkins contain potassium and Vitamin A.
Pumpkin flowers are edible.
The largest pumpkin pie ever made was over five feet in diameter and weighed over 350 pounds. It used 80 pounds of cooked pumpkin, 36 pounds of sugar, 12 dozen eggs and took six hours to bake.
In early colonial times, pumpkins were used as an ingredient for the crust of pies, not the filling.
Pumpkins were once recommended for removing freckles and curing snake bites.
The largest pumpkin ever grown weighed 1,140 pounds.
The Connecticut field variety is the traditional American pumpkin.
Pumpkins are 90 percent water.
Eighty percent of the pumpkin supply in the United States is available in October.

Not only do new seasons bring a change of weather, but also a change in outfits! Here is our top 5 style guide picks for women this fall:
Casual. Calm. Collected. The three C’s that describe the Seattle fashion scene. We love any excuse to throw on our favorite pair of jeans and a cozy sweater. As for the boots, the red laces make a bold statement, while the cozy ankle cuff keeps you warm and adds a rustic touch.
Fringe is always in. And whether you want to dress it up or down, these trendy boots will complete any look… Especially when paired with these hyperstretch jeggings (available in 6 colors).
Mad for plaid. The long length of this tunic-like number is perfect for fall layering. Plus, these jeggings paired with the zip-up bootie will likely become your closet staple.
The sweater vest is back and with a vengeance. This crew-neck number is offered in a burnt cinnamon hue with a hi-low hem and rib knit. Pair it with these boyfriend-style skinny jeans and they will be in constant rotation this fall and winter.
When tucked in, this fitted sweater will have you reminiscing of the ’90s (in a good way). Pair this with our corduroy ankle pants for the perfect fall ensemble.
The great escape. There is something so magical and blissful about escaping your every day reality and immersing yourself deep into nature. Getting lost on a hike, stumbling upon a waterfall, eating way too many s’mores, and bonding whilst building a campfire—those are the memories in life that we will never forget.
This weekend spent camping in Mammoth Lakes, CA with eleven friends, both new & old, was exactly what I needed. Being that we are all photographers or models, it is needless say that we spent the entire weekend exploring and creating. Going outdoors, and getting a breath of fresh air, is quite rejuvenating for the creative mind and soul, and quite necessary in my opinion. Thanks to UNIONBAY, we had a ton of really awesome clothing products to shoot with, which definitely helped us in terms of creativity—and warmth. It was a really cold weekend! Some of our favorite items were the Cecelia Vest, the Larissa Sweater Boot, and the Sherwood Flannel Hoodie. They were so on point with the outdoorsy camping vibes we wanted to capture! Below are some images, as well as a video that truly displays the essence of what we experienced on this adventure.

| Shop Mallory Skinny Pant |
| Shop Mattawa Leather Boot |
I encourage you all to get up, get out, and get a breath of fresh air every now and then. Go explore what this world has to offer—I think you will surprised by what you find!

This week we are featuring Portland-based photographer and fashion blogger, Sam Landreth.
Who is Sam Landreth? Can you share a quick bio with us — where you’re from, what you do, and how you got where you are.
I’m a wedding / brand photographer + fashion blogger based out of Portland, Oregon. I moved out to Portland about 8 months ago from Ohio to take a leap of faith & freelance full-time. I absolutely love it & wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Describe your personal style in three words.
Boho, earthy, girly.
Where do you get inspiration?
My photo friends, Tumblr, VSCO grid, other instagrammers.
What is your favorite picture you’ve ever taken?
This one! I took it in Big Cottonwood Canyon at about 6am with this lovely human, Marina. It was such a blast of a shoot & we were both so tired but some of my favorite images came from it.
What are your top three favorite Instagram accounts to follow and why?
@tezzamb— Everything she does is MAGIC. I will never tire of looking at her photos.
@evantsheehan — Evan has been one of my best friends for years. His photos have only gotten better over time & they are always the most unique + most interesting.
@neekmason— Not only is Nicole one of the sweetest people out there, her photos are consistently to-die-for. Everything she captures is captured so elegantly & done so well. She’s super inspiring.
What piece of advice would you give someone trying to break into the world of photography?
Take the time to learn & to be taught. Go out there & start shooting every single day & always leave room for improvement.
