Who is Paisley Starks? Can you share a quick bio with us — where you’re from, what you do, and how you got where you are?
My name is Paisley Starks. I’m a free-spirited, adventure taker, coffee and queso lover (not together, obviously) and fashion blogger. I’m a music festival fanatic that always tries to spread positive vibes (unless it’s Monday…) I’m loaded with sarcasm and love to laugh at humorous Instagram accounts. I’m from Nashville, Tennessee and love this city with my whole heart. Contrary to popular belief, I listen to more indie and alternative music rather than country and you’ll never see me wear cowboy boots. Never. I’m a hairstylist in Franklin, TN, and have a passion for the “total look”: hair, makeup and fashion. People can only get so crazy with their hairstyle, but your outfit choices are endless! I have my #fashionfreedom tag because you should always rock the styles you love without the care or worry of anyone else’s opinion. Be yourself and express yourself!
How did you first started blogging and sharing your style online?
Making a fashion blog is something that I’ve always been interested in. I love fashion and I absolutely love shopping for new clothes when new trends come out! I definitely love keeping up with trends, but adding my own twist to fit my own personal style. I wanted to share my style with everyone and hope to inspire people as much as I’m inspired by other fashion bloggers. I started my blog in March of this year and I can’t wait to see where it continues to go.
What’s a day in the life like for you? Can you walk us through your daily routine?
I stay up late and sleep in as much as possible. I consider myself a gangsta napper. When I finally get myself up and have a cup of coffee, I spend what seems like three years (more like 30 min) on perfecting my makeup and eyeliner wings. I try and work out but, let’s be honest, I love food too much. I work full time as a hairstylist, so I don’t actually have that much free time. But I spend it productively working on my blog and online shopping. I choose my outfits based on my daily mood. It can be anywhere from 70’s hippie, 80’s rocker, 90’s punk or super minimalistic and simple. I love having a variety to my style because it keeps things exciting! Other than that, I work and commonly grab drinks with my girlfriends afterward to discuss our busy days and have a good laugh.
What’s on your “iPod” right now?
My music is extremely random. My library will typically switch from The Strokes to Drake, Blink 182 to Hozier, and Queen to old school Nelly. My song choice depends on my mood as well. I could probably pick out a theme song for each of my outfits. I don’t have gator boots with a pimped out Gucci suit, but you get the point.
Describe your personal style in three words.
eccentric, hippie-chic and comfortable.
What trend are you really digging this fall?
I’m really digging the casual and comfortable style that’s slightly dressed up. Like, joggers and tennies with a long jacket or peacoat. Perfect for a coffee date, Fall shopping spree or for an every day errand-running outfit.
What are some of your favorite things to do during the fall season?
I love bonfires. I wait all year to finally have the perfect fall weather to have them. I also love going to restaurants that open their garage doors and hitting up all of my local coffee shops. I’m not a PSL (pumpkin spice latte) fan, but I love grabbing a cup of joe and working on my blog in a cozy shop. You’ll also definitely see me carving pumpkins and dressing up for Halloween (P.S. I’m being Janis Joplin, because, why not?).
What would you rock from UNIONBAY for your favorite fall activity?
I LOVE, and I mean love, UB’s Jogger Pants. They are so comfortable and I can wear them anywhere. They can easily be dressed up or dressed down. I don’t actually enjoy jogging…but I’m going to rock them and pretend that I do.
Cats or dogs?
I have a cowhide rug in my apartment. I pet it and take care of it. Does that count as a pet?
